  • AAdvantage fits a flyer building Loyalty Points toward AAdvantage status, where oneworld Emerald or Sapphire is the priority and the itinerary includes trips outside the U.S., Canada, or Mexico, where the lounge rules apply.
  • Atmos Rewards fits a flyer for whom the 2027 earn choice (distance, price paid, or segments) produces more status points in Atmos units for the specific fare and routing, or who prefers Bilt as a transfer partner for building points.

If your American flights are only part of the picture, the same fit questions apply when Atmos sits next to another airline’s program: see our Atmos Rewards and Delta SkyMiles comparison and our Atmos Rewards and United MileagePlus comparison.
