October 4, 2026 — Amex referral link
Joe confirmed that the American Express referral link on two posts pays him a referral reward. The links stay. Each link is marked as a sponsored referral, and the first one in each post has a referral notice beside it.
Pages that said the site has no affiliate links, or no credit-card affiliate links, now say the site earns from ads, from affiliate links (Amazon, Stay22, and others already listed), and from this Amex referral link. That includes the advertising policy, how we rate, the editorial policy, the about page, the footer, and post notices such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve review.
October 3, 2026 — annual fees read from issuer pages
The site’s offer register records annual fees read on the issuers’ own pages on October 3, 2026:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve: $795. Source: Chase’s Sapphire Reserve page.
- The Platinum Card from American Express: $895. Source: American Express’s Platinum page.
- United Club Card: $695. Source: Chase’s United Club Card page.
The same register records this United Club Card welcome offer from that Chase page: up to 90,000 bonus miles, made up of 80,000 after you spend $5,000 in the first 3 months, plus 10,000 after you add an authorized user in the first 3 months.
Two articles were changed that day to the $695 United Club Card fee:
- Airline alliance comparison: the United Club Card fee was changed from $525 to $695. The welcome-offer line was changed from “95,000 miles after $6,000 spend in 3 months” to the 80,000-plus-10,000 offer above.
- United MileagePlus vs Delta SkyMiles: “United Club Infinite ($525)” was changed to “United Club Infinite ($695)”.
Some older articles were left as written, including ones that still say a $550 Sapphire Reserve fee or a $695 Platinum fee. Where a net-value line was tied to the old fee, that fee text was put back so the article would not mix a new fee with an old total. Those articles are not listed here as corrected.
October 3, 2026 — four card reviews
Earlier the same day, four reviews were checked against the issuer pages. This is what those edits recorded:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve review: an unsupported “record 150,000” welcome offer was replaced with Chase’s public offer of 100,000 points after $6,000 of spend in the first 3 months.
- Amex Platinum review: the welcome offer is no longer hard-coded, and the Saks Fifth Avenue credit is described as no longer listed on Amex’s Platinum page. That review states a $219 CLEAR+ credit. The offer register, written later the same day, says the Platinum product page and the card terms print up to $209, while the membership guide prints up to $219. That disagreement was resolved to $219 on October 4, 2026.
- United Club Infinite review: an unsupported “+3,000 PQP” line was removed. The review states a welcome offer of up to 100,000 miles (90,000 after $5,000 of spend, plus 10,000 for an authorized user). The offer register written later the same day records a different welcome offer (80,000 plus 10,000). Both notes are in the site history. This page does not treat one as a later overwrite of the other.
- Capital One Venture X review: the comparison uses $795 for the Sapphire Reserve and $895 for the Platinum card.
A line on a guide that says the offer register was checked on October 3, 2026 means that register date. It does not mean every figure in the guide was rewritten that day.
How posts are written is on the editorial policy and how we rate and choose.
