Chase Ink Business Preferred vs Sapphire Reserve 2026: $95 UR vs $795 Premium

Chase Ink Business Preferred vs Sapphire Reserve 2026: $95 UR vs $795 Premium

Last Updated: September 23, 2026 Written by JP • Miles & Points Expert | 200,000+ points redeemed in 2026 Exact-comp · IBP vs personal CSR

Can Ink Business Preferred replace Sapphire Reserve? No — not if you need Chase Sapphire Lounge or Priority Pass access with guests, The Edit credit, the $300 travel credit, or the rest of the CSR lifestyle stack.

IBP can replace CSR as a UR earn + transfer vehicle when the business already spends in IBP’s 3x categories (shipping, social/search ads, internet/cable/phone, travel) up to the $150,000 combined cap and the traveler will not use CSR’s premium travel benefits enough to justify $795 .

Same Ultimate Rewards family does not mean same job: moving IBP points onto CSR can change how those points redeem through Chase Travel; it does not put lounge access or CSR statement credits on the IBP plastic.

IBP AF: $95 annual
CSR AF: $795 +$195 per AU
IBP employee cards: $0 no extra AF
Fee gap: $700/yr primaries alone
IBP 3x cap: $150k combined / anniversary
CSR portal: 8x Chase Travel + Edit
CSR travel credit: $300 anniversary year
Lounge: CSR only IBP has none

At a Glance: Ink Preferred vs Sapphire Reserve

  1. Annual fees as of September 23, 2026: Ink Business Preferred $95 with no first-year waiver published on the Chase IBP page; Sapphire Reserve personal $795 plus $195 for each authorized user.
  2. Extra-card cost is not parallel: IBP employee cards have no additional annual fee and earn into the business account; CSR authorized users cost $195 each and are the path to household lounge/credit access on the personal card. IBP’s $0 employee cards do not grant CSR lounge entry.
  3. IBP earns 3x Ultimate Rewards on the first $150,000 combined per account anniversary year in shipping, social/search advertising, internet/cable/phone, and travel, then 1x in those categories; 1x on all other purchases uncapped.
  4. Post-refresh CSR earns 8x on Chase Travel including The Edit, 4x on flights booked direct, 4x on hotels booked direct, 3x on dining worldwide (including takeout and eligible delivery), and 1x on all other purchases — including most non-air/hotel travel charged outside Chase Travel.
  5. IBP’s recurring dollar benefit on the product page is complimentary DashPass (activate by December 31, 2027) plus up to $10 a month off one qualifying non-restaurant DoorDash grocery/retail order. No $300 travel credit, no The Edit credit, no Exclusive Tables, no StubHub, no monthly Lyft statement credit, no Global Entry/TSA credit listed on the IBP product page.
  6. CSR’s credit stack (amounts only) includes $300 travel credit per account anniversary year, $500 The Edit per calendar year starting January 1, 2026 ( $250 per prepaid Pay Now booking, two-night minimum), $250 select Chase Travel hotels through December 31, 2026, $300 Exclusive Tables, $300 StubHub/viagogo through December 31, 2027, DoorDash DashPass plus monthly promos, up to $10 /month Lyft through September 30, 2027, Peloton membership credits through December 31, 2027, Apple TV and Apple Music marketed up to $300 annually through June 22, 2027, and up to $120 every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS.
  7. Lounge access is CSR-only: Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club with up to two guests; Priority Pass Select to 1,300+ lounges with up to two accompanying guests (additional Priority Pass guests $27 per guest per visit on the Chase product page); select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges/Cafés with an eligible boarding pass (primary + 1 guest). IBP’s product page lists no Chase Sapphire Lounge, Priority Pass, or any lounge network.
  8. Both earn transferable Ultimate Rewards in the same partner list from an eligible UR account. Chase documents combining points across your own Chase cards and, with limits, with one household member who shares your address. CSR Points Boost is marketed up to 2x on eligible Chase Travel; IBP Points Boost value/availability vary by card. World of Hyatt transfers from UR at 4:3 starting October 1, 2026 (1,000 UR = 750 Hyatt points) per the Chase IBP product page.

Real-World Examples

Example 1 — Business-heavy, lounge-light

A business that already spends in shipping, social/search ads, telecom, and broad travel (agencies, OTAs, ground transport) and does not use airport lounges or The Edit. IBP’s $95 fee plus the $150,000 combined 3x bucket is the earn vehicle; CSR’s 8x/4x table does not pay 3x on every travel merchant, and the $795 stack goes unused.

Takeaway: IBP-only fits when the business 3x categories are real and the premium travel bundle is not.

Example 2 — Personal premium, thin business 3x

A household that books flights and hotels direct or via Chase Travel, dines out heavily, and wants Sapphire Lounge + Priority Pass with two guests. CSR’s post-refresh earn table and the $300 travel credit + The Edit + guest lounge rules are the job; IBP cannot stand in for that bundle even if points later move to CSR.

Takeaway: CSR-only fits when lounges, credits, and 8x/4x/3x spend are the product — not a business earn card.

Example 3 — Hold both when both jobs are real

An owner-operator with real business 3x categories and real personal premium travel. Hold both: IBP prints UR on the business bucket and $0 employee cards; CSR is the redemption / guest-travel / credit card. Combined primary fee is $890 /year before CSR authorized users. Combining points follows Chase Combine Points / linked accounts, not a guaranteed always-on household pool.

Takeaway: Both cards only when both jobs are real — not as a trophy Chase wallet.

3|Credits: Thin IBP DoorDash Slice vs CSR Premium Stack

TL;DR – Verdict

IBP does not replace CSR when the trip needs lounges, guest access, The Edit, or the CSR credit stack. IBP replaces CSR only as a UR earn + transfer card when business spend sits in IBP’s 3x categories and the traveler will not use $795 of premium travel benefits.

Four frames: IBP-only (business earn + UR at $95 ), CSR-only (personal premium travel at $795 ), both when both jobs are real ( $890 combined primaries before CSR AUs), or neither when business 3x is thin and the household will skip CSR credits and lounges.

Confirm current fees, earn tables, credits, and lounge guest rules on Chase product pages before applying. Welcome bonuses (both marketed at 100,000 points as of September 23, 2026, with different spend hurdles) are marketing and must be confirmed on apply.

4|Lounge Access: CSR Only (IBP Does Not Get You In)

Introduction: $95 Business Earn vs $795 Personal Premium

Can Ink Business Preferred replace Sapphire Reserve? Ink Business Preferred does not replace Sapphire Reserve if you need lounges, guest access, The Edit credit, or the CSR credit stack. IBP can replace CSR as a UR earn + transfer vehicle when the business already spends in IBP’s 3x categories and the traveler will not use CSR’s premium travel benefits enough to justify $795 .

The pair in this exact-comp is Chase Ink Business Preferred® ( $95 business earn card) vs Chase Sapphire Reserve® personal card ( $795 ). Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ is a separate $795 business product and is not the CSR side of this pairing.

Both cards earn Ultimate Rewards that can transfer to the same airline/hotel partners from an eligible UR account. Chase documents combining points across your own Chase cards; household combining is limited to one same-address person. Moving IBP-earned points onto CSR can change how those points redeem through Chase Travel (CSR Points Boost marketed up to 2x ); it does not give the IBP plastic lounge access or CSR statement credits.

Hard scope lock: this extends the live Ink fee post without rewriting it. It is not a full CSR review, not a CSR credits checklist remake, not a CSR lounge-guest remake, and not a CSP vs CSR remake. Fees, earn tables, credits, and lounge guest rules below are what Chase IBP and CSR pages showed as of September 23, 2026. Welcome bonuses and rotating partner promotions change — confirm on apply.

5|Hold IBP-Only, CSR-Only, Both, or Neither — Four Frames

Same UR Family, Different Jobs — $95 vs $795

IBP’s job is the $95 business earn card: 3x Ultimate Rewards on a combined $150,000 cap of shipping, social/search advertising, internet/cable/phone, and travel; $0 employee cards; transferable UR; no Chase lounge network on the IBP product page. No first-year waiver is published on that page as of September 23, 2026 (pricing/terms LGC63764).

CSR’s job is the $795 personal premium travel card: higher portal and direct-book earn on flights/hotels, dining 3x , $300 travel credit, The Edit hotel credit, Chase Sapphire Lounge + Priority Pass with guests, and a stacked lifestyle-credit calendar. Authorized users are $195 each (pricing/terms LGC64842).

Fact Ink Business Preferred Sapphire Reserve (personal)
Annual fee $95 $795
Extra cards $0 employee cards $195 per authorized user
Primary job Business 3x earn + UR transfers Premium travel, lounges, credits
Lounge network None on product page Sapphire Lounges + Priority Pass + select Maple Leaf
Foreign transaction fee None None
Welcome (marketing; confirm on apply) 100,000 after $8,000 / 3 months 100,000 after $6,000 / 3 months

The fee gap to beat is $700 /year on the primary cards alone ( $795 vs $95 ), plus $195 per CSR authorized user if household lounge/credit access is the reason to add someone. Combined both-cards primary fee is $890 /year before CSR AUs. IBP’s $0 employee cards do not grant CSR lounge entry — that is a different product, not a free substitute.

Shared family, different redemption tools: both earn Chase Ultimate Rewards® transferable to the same partner list from an eligible UR account. IBP can use Points Boost on select Chase Travel bookings; value and availability vary by card. CSR Points Boost is marketed up to 2x on The Edit and on top-booked hotels and select-airline flights through Chase Travel. Starting October 1, 2026, UR transfers to World of Hyatt at 4:3 (1,000 UR = 750 Hyatt points) per the Chase IBP product page — confirm the live rate in the Ultimate Rewards portal before any large transfer.

Protections are not a reason to treat IBP as a lounge/credit substitute. IBP lists cell phone protection up to $1,000 per claim when the monthly bill is paid with the card (max 3 claims in 12 months; $100 deductible), trip cancellation/interruption up to $5,000 per covered traveler / $10,000 per trip, and primary auto rental coverage when renting for business purposes up to $60,000 on eligible vehicles. The Guide to Benefits PDF controls claims. CSR markets a fuller premium travel-protection set — do not inventory it here.

For the standalone Ink fee math — whether $95 is worth it on business 3x alone — see whether the Chase Ink Business Preferred $95 annual fee is worth it in 2026 . This page extends that essay into the IBP-vs-personal-CSR pairwise decision; it does not rewrite it.

Earn Rates: Business 3x Cap vs CSR Portal / Direct / Dining

IBP (Chase product page): 3 points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases each account anniversary year in shipping; advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines; internet, cable, and phone services; and travel. After that combined $150,000 , those categories earn 1 point per $1 . All other purchases earn 1 point per $1 , uncapped. Qualifying Lyft rides earn 5x total through September 30, 2027 (Chase: 2 additional points on top of the 3x travel rate until the 3x cap is used).

CSR post-refresh (Chase product page — not the pre-refresh “3x other travel” table): 8x on purchases through Chase Travel, including The Edit; 4x on flights booked direct; 4x on hotels booked direct; 3x on dining worldwide, including takeout and eligible delivery; 1x on all other purchases — including most non-air/hotel travel charged outside Chase Travel (taxis, tolls, parking, many trains/buses) once you are past any credit that zeros the purchase. Also 5x total on Lyft rides through September 30, 2027, and 10x total on eligible Peloton equipment and accessory purchases over $150 through December 31, 2027, up to $5,000 in total purchases. CSR travel-credit and The Edit purchases that qualify for those statement credits do not earn points. CSR bonus categories are not subject to IBP’s $150,000 combined cap.

Category IBP CSR (personal)
Chase Travel (incl. The Edit) Inside 3x travel bucket (to cap) 8x
Flights booked direct 3x travel (to cap) 4x
Hotels booked direct 3x travel (to cap) 4x
Dining 1x 3x
Shipping / social-search ads / telecom 3x (to $150k combined) 1x
Broad travel (agencies, OTAs, ground) 3x travel bucket (to cap) 1x outside portal/direct air-hotel
Everything else 1x uncapped 1x

The earn contrast that decides the pairing: IBP still pays 3x on a broad travel bucket and on shipping / ads / telecom up to $150k . A business that books agencies, OTAs, ground transport, or non-hotel/air travel often earns more of that spend on IBP than on CSR. A household that books flights and hotels direct or via Chase Travel, and dines out heavily, earns more of that spend on CSR (8x/4x/3x). Post-refresh CSR does not pay a general 3x on every travel merchant.

Same-program transfers listed on the Chase IBP product page as of September 23, 2026 include Aer Lingus AerClub; Air Canada Aeroplan; British Airways Club; Flying Blue AIR FRANCE KLM; Iberia Plus; JetBlue TrueBlue; Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer; Southwest Rapid Rewards; United MileagePlus; Virgin Atlantic Flying Club; IHG One Rewards; Marriott Bonvoy; and World of Hyatt. Chase’s household-points education page states you can combine UR between your own Chase cards; members of the same household can combine points with one designated person who shares your address. Treat mechanics as “follow Chase Combine Points / linked accounts,” not a guaranteed always-on pool.

Points Boost applies to Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve for Business, J.P. Morgan Reserve, Ink Preferred, and Ink Plus per Chase Travel’s Points Boost guide (published December 22, 2025), with CSR points worth up to 2x on The Edit and on top-booked hotels and select-airline flights through Chase Travel. Chase’s IBP education page says Points Boost can increase IBP point value and that value/availability vary by card. TPG reports IBP Points Boost up to 1.75 cents per point on select Chase Travel bookings (IBP review, September 21, 2026). Do not treat any fixed IBP portal cents rate as current official Chase policy — Chase replaced the old fixed portal premium with Points Boost after the 2025 refresh.

Credits: Thin IBP DoorDash Slice vs CSR Premium Stack

Use credits only to show why $795 exists and why IBP is not a substitute for that stack — amounts only, not a full CSR coupon calendar.

IBP credits / memberships on the Chase product page (September 23, 2026): complimentary DashPass for a minimum of one year when activated by December 31, 2027 ( $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders); after activation, up to $10 a month off one qualifying non-restaurant DoorDash grocery/retail order (subtotal only; excludes fees, taxes, gratuity; one redemption per month per person; U.S. only). Not listed on the IBP product page: $300 travel credit, The Edit credit, Exclusive Tables dining credit, StubHub credit, monthly Lyft statement credit, or Global Entry/TSA statement credit.

CSR credits on Chase product + benefits pages (September 23, 2026) — amounts only:

  • $300 travel credit per account anniversary year on a broad list of travel merchants (airlines, hotels, motels, timeshares, car rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, campgrounds, passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, tolls, parking). Qualifying purchases do not earn points.
  • $500 The Edit credit per calendar year starting January 1, 2026: up to $250 per prepaid “Pay Now” booking, two-night minimum, up to $500 annually. Qualifying purchases do not earn points.
  • $250 credit through December 31, 2026 on prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings at named brands (IHG, Montage, Pendry, Omni, Virgin Hotels, Minor Hotels, Pan Pacific); two-night minimum; no points on qualifying purchases.
  • $300 Exclusive Tables dining: up to $150 Jan–Jun and $150 Jul–Dec at listed OpenTable Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurants.
  • $300 StubHub/viagogo: up to $150 Jan–Jun and $150 Jul–Dec through December 31, 2027 (activation required; excludes gift cards).
  • DoorDash: complimentary DashPass (activate by December 31, 2027) plus monthly promos Chase values in the $300 /year neighborhood (restaurant + grocery/retail splits; through December 31, 2027).
  • Lyft: up to $10 /month in-app credits through September 30, 2027 ( $120 /year cap on the Chase page).
  • Peloton: $10 /month statement credits on eligible direct memberships through December 31, 2027 (activation required).
  • Apple TV and Apple Music: Chase benefits page markets up to $300 annually through June 22, 2027.
  • Up to $120 statement credit every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS application fees paid to an eligible enrollment channel.

Credit contrast for the pairwise decision: IBP’s recurring dollar benefit is a thin DoorDash grocery/retail slice plus DashPass. CSR’s $300 travel credit alone is larger than IBP’s entire annual fee; the rest of the CSR stack only counts if the household actually books The Edit, Exclusive Tables, StubHub, Lyft, Peloton, or Apple subscriptions the way Chase coded them. Fees are offset only to the extent listed credits are actually used under enrollment, booking-channel, and timing rules — do not invent a net-cost percentage.

After The Edit / Chase Travel hotel credit contrast, hotel-status and free-night strategy often lives on dedicated hotel cards — see best hotel credit cards for free nights and elite status in 2026 — then return here for whether IBP or CSR (or both) should print the UR that funds those stays.

Lounge Access: CSR Only (IBP Does Not Get You In)

The Chase IBP product page does not include Chase Sapphire Lounge, Priority Pass, or any lounge network. TPG’s September 21, 2026 IBP review states the card has no airport lounge access. Do not imply Ink Preferred “gets you in” because points can move to CSR. Combining UR does not put lounge access on the IBP plastic.

CSR (Chase product + benefits pages): complimentary access to Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club with up to two guests ; complimentary Priority Pass Select membership and access to 1,300+ Priority Pass airport lounges with up to two accompanying guests (additional Priority Pass guests $27 per guest per visit on the Chase product page); select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges / Cafés with an eligible boarding pass (Chase: primary cardmember and 1 guest; additional guests priced on the product page). Capacity limits apply; present the Chase card and a boarding pass. Chase benefits page notes Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX) Sapphire Lounges coming in 2026.

Network rule relevant to “does IBP replace CSR”: Frequent Miler reports that starting August 15, 2026, Priority Pass alone will no longer admit visitors to Chase Sapphire Lounges — eligible Chase cardholders only. IBP still would not be an eligible Sapphire Lounge card.

Decision factor only: If the trip needs two-guest Sapphire Lounge / Priority Pass access, CSR is the card in this pair that provides it. IBP cannot stand in. This is not a lounge directory, food guide, or guest-policy remake.

If you are weighing CSR against other premium lounge cards by goal (lounges, credits, or transfers), see our Amex Plat vs CSR vs Venture X 2026 pick-by-goal guide — then return here for the pairwise IBP vs personal CSR decision.

Hold IBP-Only, CSR-Only, Both, or Neither — Four Frames

1. IBP-only

Business earn + UR transfers + $95 . Accepts no Chase lounge network and almost no statement-credit offset. Hold IBP without CSR when most of the following are true: business spend inside shipping, social/search ads, telecom, and/or broad travel is material relative to $95 — especially approaching but not necessarily hitting the $150k cap; you need $0 employee cards with spend limits more than a $195 personal authorized user; you already have lounge access from another card, fly airports without a useful Sapphire Lounge / Priority Pass hall, or do not value two-guest lounge entry; you will not book The Edit two-night prepaid stays, Exclusive Tables restaurants, or the other CSR coupons often enough to offset $795 ; the goal is transferable UR plus Chase Travel Points Boost at the Ink tier, not the Reserve credit stack.

2. CSR-only

Personal premium travel. Accepts 1x on most business categories IBP would have paid 3x , $195 AUs instead of $0 employee cards, and no IBP $150k business cap to work with. Hold CSR when most of the following are true: you will use the $300 anniversary travel credit and at least one of The Edit / Chase Travel hotel / dining / lounge benefits in a typical year; you want Chase Sapphire Lounge + Priority Pass with two guests on the personal card; a large share of spend is direct flights, direct hotels, Chase Travel, and dining — CSR’s 8x/4x/3x table beats IBP’s 3x-with-cap / 1x-elsewhere pattern on that mix; you want CSR Points Boost up to 2x on eligible Chase Travel as the household’s redemption card and will pay $795 (and $195 per AU) for that plus the credit/lounge bundle.

3. Both — the default “same UR, different jobs” build

Hold both when there is real business 3x spend (ads, shipping, telecom, miscellaneous travel) and real personal premium travel (lounges with guests, The Edit, $300 travel credit, dining 3x). Points will be combined into one UR wallet so IBP earnings can ride CSR’s Chase Travel Points Boost or the same transfer-partner list. Chase documents combining across your own cards; household combining is limited to one same-address person. The extra $95 is cheaper than giving up IBP’s $150k 3x business bucket, and the extra $795 is justified by credits + lounges you will actually use — not by “more Chase cards.” Combined fee = $890 /year before CSR AUs.

You may need employee cards on the business side and a personal AU on CSR for lounge access. Those are different products: $0 IBP employee cards ≠ $195 CSR AU lounge access. For the household-access fork on the Reserve side, see Chase Sapphire Reserve authorized user fee and benefits explained 2026 .

4. Neither / other Chase card

Do not hold both if the business 3x categories are thin and the household will not use CSR credits/lounges. Then the comparison collapses to “pay $95 for transferable UR” vs “pay $795 for a premium travel bundle,” not a both-cards default. CSP vs CSR and the standalone IBP fee essay are different URLs and must not be rewritten here.

Conclusion / Final Thoughts

Ink Business Preferred does not replace Sapphire Reserve when the trip needs lounges, guest access, The Edit, or the CSR credit stack. IBP can replace CSR as a UR earn + transfer vehicle when business spend sits in the 3x categories and the $795 premium bundle will go unused.

Restate the jobs: $95 IBP prints UR on a capped business bucket and $0 employee cards; $795 personal CSR buys 8x/4x/3x travel-and-dining earn, the credit stack, and two-guest lounge access. Same UR family is not the same plastic. Combining points can change Chase Travel redemption value (CSR Points Boost marketed up to 2x ); it does not move lounge access or statement credits onto IBP.

Four frames only: IBP-only, CSR-only, both when both jobs are real ( $890 combined primaries before CSR AUs), or neither when both jobs are thin. Do not default to both cards as a trophy Chase wallet. Verify current fees, earn tables, credits, welcome offers, the Hyatt 4:3 transfer date (October 1, 2026), and lounge guest rules on Chase product pages before applying.

Everyday personal spend outside either premium or business Ink card still needs a home — compare Chase Freedom Unlimited vs Capital One Venture as the everyday-spend next step after the IBP vs CSR jobs decision. Soft next-step only: this post does not expand into CSP vs CSR, a full CSR review, or Sapphire Reserve for Business.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Ink Business Preferred replace Sapphire Reserve?

No if you need lounges, guest access, The Edit credit, or the CSR credit stack. Yes as a UR earn + transfer vehicle when the business already spends in IBP’s 3x categories (shipping, social/search ads, internet/cable/phone, travel) up to the $150,000 combined cap and you will not use CSR’s premium travel benefits enough to justify $795 .

What are the annual fees for Ink Business Preferred and Sapphire Reserve?

As of September 23, 2026 Chase product pages: IBP is $95 with no first-year waiver published on that page. Personal Sapphire Reserve is $795 ; each authorized user is $195 . IBP employee cards have no additional annual fee. The primary-card fee gap is $700 /year; both cards together are $890 /year before CSR authorized users.

Does Ink Preferred get Chase Sapphire Lounge or Priority Pass access?

No. The Chase IBP product page does not include Chase Sapphire Lounge, Priority Pass, or any lounge network. Moving IBP-earned points onto a CSR account does not put lounge access on the IBP plastic. CSR includes Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club with up to two guests, Priority Pass Select to 1,300+ lounges with up to two accompanying guests (additional Priority Pass guests $27 per guest per visit on the Chase product page), and select Air Canada Maple Leaf access (primary + 1 guest).

How do the earn rates compare after the Reserve refresh?

IBP: 3x on the first $150,000 combined per account anniversary year in shipping, social/search ads, internet/cable/phone, and travel; then 1x in those categories; 1x on everything else. CSR: 8x on Chase Travel including The Edit; 4x flights booked direct; 4x hotels booked direct; 3x dining worldwide; 1x on all other purchases, including most non-air/hotel travel charged outside Chase Travel. CSR does not pay a general 3x on every travel merchant. Both list 5x total on qualifying Lyft rides through September 30, 2027.

Do IBP and CSR earn the same Ultimate Rewards points?

Yes — both earn Chase Ultimate Rewards that can transfer to the same partner list from an eligible UR account. Chase documents combining points across your own Chase cards and, with limits, with one household member who shares your address. CSR Points Boost is marketed up to 2x on eligible Chase Travel; IBP Points Boost value/availability vary by card. Starting October 1, 2026, UR transfers to World of Hyatt at 4:3 per the Chase IBP product page.

What credits does Ink Preferred have compared with Sapphire Reserve?

IBP: complimentary DashPass when activated by December 31, 2027, plus up to $10 a month off one qualifying non-restaurant DoorDash grocery/retail order. CSR: $300 travel credit per account anniversary year, $500 The Edit per calendar year starting January 1, 2026, $250 select Chase Travel hotels through December 31, 2026, $300 Exclusive Tables, $300 StubHub/viagogo through December 31, 2027, DoorDash DashPass plus monthly promos, up to $10 /month Lyft through September 30, 2027, Peloton membership credits, Apple TV and Apple Music marketed through June 22, 2027, and up to $120 every four years for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS. CSR’s $300 travel credit alone is larger than IBP’s entire annual fee.

Should I hold both cards?

Hold both when there is real business 3x spend and real personal premium travel (lounges with guests, The Edit, $300 travel credit, dining 3x), and you will combine points per Chase rules. Do not hold both if the business 3x categories are thin and the household will not use CSR credits and lounges. $0 IBP employee cards are not a substitute for a $195 CSR authorized user if the household needs lounge access.

What are the current welcome offers?

As of September 23, 2026 Chase product pages (marketing; confirm on apply): IBP — 100,000 bonus points after $8,000 in purchases in the first 3 months; bonus may not be available if you have ever had this card. CSR — 100,000 points after $6,000 in purchases in the first 3 months; Chase markets 100,000 points as $2,000 toward select flights and hotels through Chase Travel. Eligibility restrictions apply if the card is currently open or was previously held.

Is Sapphire Reserve for Business the CSR side of this comparison?

No. Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ is a separate $795 business product. This exact-comp pairs Ink Business Preferred with the personal Chase Sapphire Reserve only.
