Chase Ink Business Premier Review 2026: Worth $195?

At a glance

The card works well for businesses that make regular large purchases of $5,000 or more and want straightforward cash back without transfer options. The $1,000 welcome bonus offsets the $195 annual fee in the first year if the $10,000 spend requirement is met. Points stay as cash back only and do not transfer to Chase travel partners. Compare it against the Ink Business Preferred if category bonuses or transferable points matter more for your spend.

Offer details

As of October 20, 2026, new cardmembers can earn a $1,000 bonus cash back after spending $10,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. The new cardmember bonus may not be available if you have ever had this card. Chase may also consider factors pertinent to your business in determining bonus eligibility.

Timing and exclusions

After qualifying for the bonus, allow 6 to 8 weeks for the bonus to post. The account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Certain transactions do not count as purchases toward the bonus or for earning rewards. These include balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers, person-to-person money transfers, interest, unauthorized charges, and fees including the annual fee.

Purchases are when you or an authorized user use a card to buy products and services. Returns or refunds reduce the qualifying amount. Meeting the $10,000 spend threshold unlocks the $1,000 bonus cash back, which equals 100,000 points under the program’s tracking rules.

Earn Rates

Base and elevated rates

The card earns a total of 2.5% cash back on every purchase of $5,000 or more. Each purchase must bill and post to the account in an amount equal to or greater than $5,000 to qualify for the higher rate. Purchases that ship in smaller amounts or bill below that threshold earn only the base rate. The card earns unlimited 2% cash back on all other business purchases. There are no caps on these rates.

The card earns unlimited 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Travel. This is 3% additional cash back on top of the base 2%. The card also earns 5% total cash back on qualifying Lyft products and services through September 30, 2027. Qualifying Lyft products include rideshare, bike and scooter rides, and subscription and membership products. This is 3% additional on top of the base 2%. Purchase of gift cards, car rentals, vehicle service centers, miscellaneous fees, and other Lyft products are excluded from the Lyft promotion.

Worked example

A $5,000 purchase that bills and posts as a single amount of $5,000 or more earns 2.5% cash back. That is $125 in cash back rewards ($5,000 × 0.025). The same purchase at the base 2% rate would earn $100. The extra 0.5% produces $25 more on that single transaction. Because the higher rate has no cap, multiple qualifying purchases of $5,000 or more each add the same 0.5% lift.

How Rewards and Redemption Work

Tracking points

Cash Back rewards are tracked as points. Each $1 in Cash Back rewards equals 100 points. A $125 cash back amount from the $5,000 example above is tracked as 12,500 points. Points do not expire as long as the account remains open. Points are lost if the account is closed for misuse, fraud, or other specified reasons.

Redemption options

There is no minimum amount required to redeem Cash Back rewards. Cardmembers can redeem as a statement credit or via direct deposit into most U.S. checking and savings accounts. Points can also be used for gift cards, travel, and other options available through the program. Redemption values vary by option.

Expiration and limits

Points cannot be moved to other Chase cards or transferred to Chase Travel Partners. This is a cash-back structure only. You cannot combine these points with rewards from other Ink or Sapphire cards for transfer. Account alerts can be set for purchase amounts, locations, or other parameters and delivered by email or text.

Benefits and Protections

Purchase and warranty coverage

Purchase Protection covers eligible new purchases for 120 days from the date of purchase against damage or theft up to $10,000 per item. Coverage is 90 days for New York residents. Cell Phone Protection provides up to $1,000 per claim against covered theft or damage for cell phones listed on the monthly cell phone bill when paid with the card. Maximum of 3 claims in a 12-month period with a $100 deductible per claim. Extended Warranty Protection extends the manufacturer’s U.S. warranty by an additional year on eligible warranties of three years or less, up to four years from the date of purchase.

Travel and rental protections

Auto Rental Coverage is primary when renting for business purposes and provides reimbursement up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage for most rental vehicles with an MSRP of $125,000 or less. Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance reimburses up to $5,000 per covered traveler and $10,000 per trip for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses if the trip is canceled or interrupted due to covered situations.

Other assistance

The card offers Zero Liability Protection, meaning cardmembers are not held responsible for unauthorized charges. Fraud monitoring runs 24/7; Chase can text, email, or call if there are unusual purchases. Roadside Assistance is available; service fees are billed to the card at time of dispatch. Travel and Emergency Assistance provides referrals for legal and other emergency needs. The card supports contactless tap-to-pay wherever the contactless symbol is present.

Annual and other fees

The annual fee is $195. There are no foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside of the United States. Employee cards cost $0. Individual spending limits can be set, and the business is responsible for all balances on the account. Cardmembers are automatically checked for a credit line increase at least every 6 months.

Flex for Business mechanics

The card is a Pay in Full card with Flex for Business flexibility. The Pay in Full balance must be paid each month. Flex for Business balances can be paid over time with interest. Purchases automatically go to Flex for Business until its limit is reached; additional purchases then go to the Pay in Full balance. The Flex for Business variable APR is 17.99% to 28.74%. The Flex for Business limit is posted on the Card Account Details page and Chase may cancel, change, or restrict it at any time. You can avoid interest on new Flex for Business purchases if you pay your entire statement New Balance by the due date and time.

Prior card ownership

If you previously held the Ink Business Premier, check with Chase before applying, because eligibility is not guaranteed solely by meeting the spend requirement.

Chase reviews factors related to the business when deciding whether to award the bonus.

What counts as a purchase

Balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions, gambling, person-to-person transfers, interest and fees don't count (full list under Welcome Offer above).

Pros and Cons

Strengths

  • Earns a total of 2.5% cash back on every purchase of $5,000 or more with no caps, provided each purchase bills and posts at or above that amount.
  • $1,000 bonus cash back after $10,000 spend in the first 3 months from account opening.
  • Employee cards cost $0, with the ability to set individual spending limits; the business remains responsible for all balances.
  • No foreign transaction fees on purchases made outside of the United States.
  • Solid protections including Purchase Protection up to $10,000 per item for 120 days, Cell Phone Protection, Extended Warranty, primary Auto Rental Coverage up to $60,000, and Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance.
  • Unlimited 5% cash back on travel through Chase Travel and 5% total on qualifying Lyft products through September 30, 2027.

Limitations

  • $195 annual fee.
  • Points earned cannot be moved to other Chase cards or transferred to Chase Travel Partners; this is cash back only.
  • Pay in Full balance must be paid each month; only Flex for Business balances can carry over with interest at the variable APR of 17.99% to 28.74%.
  • Purchases below $5,000 earn only the 2% base rate; split shipments that bill under $5,000 do not qualify for the higher rate.

Who It's For

Ideal spend patterns

The card fits businesses that regularly make large single purchases of $5,000 or more. Each qualifying purchase earns 2.5% cash back instead of the 2% base rate, and the higher rate has no annual cap. A business that places several $5,000+ orders each month captures the 0.5% lift on those transactions. The $1,000 welcome bonus is reachable if the business can put $10,000 in eligible purchases on the card in the first 3 months.

Preference for cash back

It suits owners who prefer simple cash back rather than transferable points. Points stay on this card and cannot be moved or transferred to Chase Travel Partners. Businesses that value employee cards at $0 cost and no foreign transaction fees also find the card practical for international vendor payments or travel. If your spend is mostly smaller transactions or you want category bonuses and partner transfers, other Ink cards may fit better.

The card is less ideal for low-volume businesses that rarely hit $5,000 on a single purchase, because the 2% base rate plus the $195 fee requires higher overall spend to produce net value after year one.

Alternatives: Ink Business Preferred and No-Fee Inks

Ink Business Preferred

The Ink Business Preferred has a $95 annual fee and earns 3x points on the first $150,000 spent each anniversary year in combined shipping, advertising, internet/cable/phone, and travel, then 1x. It also has no foreign transaction fees. The Preferred new cardmember bonus may not be available if you have ever had that card. Preferred points can be transferred to Chase Travel Partners, unlike Premier points which cannot. Choose Preferred if your spend concentrates in those bonus categories or you value transfer flexibility more than the 2.5% rate on large purchases. Ink Preferred vs Sapphire Reserve.

No-annual-fee options

No-annual-fee Ink Cash or Unlimited cards suit lower spend. Ink Business Unlimited earns 1.5% on everything with no annual fee. Premier's extra 0.5% (2% vs 1.5%) covers its $195 fee at $39,000 a year in spend, or sooner with $5,000+ purchases at 2.5%. The Ink Business Preferred and Premier have no foreign transaction fees. Premier’s higher base rate on large purchases and $195 fee make it a step up when volume is high and cash back simplicity is preferred.

Premier points do not transfer. Preferred points do. The choice depends on whether large single purchases or category bonuses and transfers drive more value for the business.

Is the $195 Annual Fee Worth It?

Spreadsheet with a break-even chart on a monitor

First-year break-even

The $195 annual fee is offset in the first year by the $1,000 welcome bonus if the $10,000 spend requirement is met. After the bonus posts, the net first-year position is positive by $805 before ongoing rewards. The bonus is the largest single offset available.

Ongoing math

Ongoing value depends on the volume of $5,000 or larger purchases that earn 2.5% instead of the 2% base. Example: $20,000 in purchases that each bill and post at $5,000 or more earns $500 at 2.5% ($20,000 × 0.025). The same spend at 2% earns $400. The extra $100 from the elevated rate partially covers the $195 fee. Additional spend at the 2% rate or the 5% Chase Travel and Lyft rates improves the net further. Protections and the absence of foreign transaction fees add non-cash value.

Break-even on the elevated rate alone requires roughly $39,000 in $5,000+ purchases per year to generate $195 in extra cash back ($195 ÷ 0.005). Most businesses reach a positive net sooner by combining the elevated rate, base earn, and any travel or Lyft spend. The fee is worth it when large-purchase volume is regular and the business prefers cash back over transfers.

Bottom Line

Office window at dusk with a closed laptop on the desk

The Chase Ink Business Premier is strong for high-volume large purchases when the business wants straightforward cash back. The $1,000 welcome bonus covers the $195 annual fee in year one when the $10,000 spend is met. Points stay as cash back only and do not transfer to Chase travel partners. Employee cards cost $0 and there are no foreign transaction fees. Compare against the Ink Business Preferred if category bonuses or transferable points matter more. For lower spend, the no-annual-fee Ink options avoid the fee entirely.
