Partners Bookable Online Versus by Phone
SkyMiles can be redeemed on Delta, Delta Connection carriers and 30+ partner airlines. Most partners let us book award travel directly on delta.com.
Award travel books online with these partners: Aeromexico, Aerolineas Argentinas, Air France, Cape Air, China Airlines, China Eastern, El Al, Garuda Indonesia, KLM, Korean Air, LATAM, Mandarin Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Shanghai Airlines, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, WestJet and Xiamen Airlines.
A few partners require a call. Award travel on Air Europa, Air Tahiti Nui and Kenya Airways must be booked by contacting Delta Reservations.
For US travelers, this means we can handle the large majority of partner awards ourselves on the website or app. We only pick up the phone for those three specific carriers.

Using Seats.aero to Explore Award Space
Seats.aero is a third-party award search tool that lists Delta SkyMiles as a supported program for searching and exploring award flights.
Any result that looks promising must be confirmed by searching the same itinerary on delta.com with Shop with Miles enabled.
For US travelers, this extra step helps spot partner options that might not jump out immediately in the Delta calendar. See our full guide on how to use Seats.aero for setup tips and search strategies.
Always verify bookable space on the official Delta site before transferring any points or miles.
Understanding Blackout Dates and Award Rules
There are no blackout dates on Delta-operated flights. Blackout dates may apply on partner airline-operated flights and are defined by each carrier, so always check the specific partner's rules when searching.
Delta publishes no fixed award chart. Award prices vary, are subject to capacity controls, and may be higher depending on routing rules and restrictions.
SkyMiles do not expire. For travel originating in the United States and Canada, including flights operated by joint venture and codeshare partners, members may change or cancel award tickets without a change or redeposit fee, excluding Delta Basic fares. This flexibility helps US travelers adjust plans after booking. For full details on making changes, see our guide on how to change or cancel a Delta SkyMiles award.
These rules apply when you search and book on delta.com or the Fly Delta app with miles pricing enabled. Confirm the exact terms for your itinerary before transferring any points or finalizing the reservation.
Confirming Availability Before Transferring Miles
Search first on delta.com by selecting Book and checking Shop with Miles, or use the Fly Delta app and select Show Price in Miles. Enter your trip details and select Find Flights so the flexible Award calendar displays the lowest price options for your dates. Seats.aero also supports searching and exploring Delta SkyMiles award space. Confirm any results you explore there by running the same search on delta.com before you proceed.
American Express Membership Rewards points transfer to Delta SkyMiles at a 1:1 ratio. Amex charges an excise tax offset fee of $0.0006 per point, up to $99, on transfers to US airline programs. Review transfer timing in our points transfer times guide.
Only transfer after you confirm the specific award space you need is available on delta.com. That keeps you from moving points if the flights disappear. Once the miles are in your SkyMiles account, book the itinerary through Delta.
