Five of Our Favorite Beaches in Costa Adeje, Tenerife

Five of Our Favorite Beaches in Costa Adeje, Tenerife

With its warm climate and idyllic beaches, it's no surprise that Tenerife is a popular vacation destination. There are plenty of amazing beaches to explore on the island, but if you're looking for an unforgettable experience, head to Costa Adeje. Located on the southwestern coast of Tenerife, Costa Adeje has some of the best beaches in the world (see our trip report from our recent visit to Tenerife). From secluded coves to stunning black sand beaches, here are five of our favorite spots in Costa Adeje.

Playa del Duque

Playa del Duque, Tenerife

Playa del Duque

Located at the heart of Costa Adeje and just a short walk from Playa Fañabé, Playa del Duque is one of the most luxurious and popular beaches in Tenerife. It's well known for its white sand and crystal clear waters as well as its wide range of facilities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, showers and toilets. Thanks to its central location, Playa del Duque can get quite crowded during peak season so be sure to get there early if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet!

Playa Fanabé

Just down the beach from Playa del Duque lies another beautiful spot - Playa Fañabé. This beach boasts soft golden sand and calm turquoise waters - perfect for swimming or simply relaxing on a sun lounger with a good book. It's also equipped with all kinds of amenities such as restaurants and cafés which makes it ideal for families or those looking for some creature comforts while still enjoying a day at the beach. See our review of the Iberostar Selection Sábila within walking distance to this beach.

Playa de Troya

If you're looking for something less touristy than Playa del Duque or Fañabé then head to Playa de Troya! This is a more secluded spot located at the northern end of La Arena Beach and it's surrounded by cliffs offering stunning views out over the Atlantic Ocean. The beach itself is made up of gorgeous white sand which contrasts beautifully against its tranquil turquoise waters - perfect for swimming or snorkelling! The only downside is that there aren't many services here so you'll need to bring your own food and drinks if you plan on spending all day at this beach.

La Caleta Beach

Another great spot in Costa Adeje is La Caleta Beach. Located near El Puertito de la Cruz this beach offers stunning views out over Los Gigantes Cliffs - making it ideal for photographers or those looking for some picturesque scenery! The water here is usually quite calm which makes it perfect for swimming but be aware that it can get quite crowded during peak season due to its popularity with locals and tourists alike. If you're looking for something quieter then try visiting La Caleta during off-peak times when it's much less crowded!

El Puertito de la Cruz Beach

Last but not least we have El Puertito de la Cruz Beach which is located just south of La Caleta Beach. This beach offers stunning views out over both La Gomera Island and Los Gigantes Cliffs making it ideal if you want some truly breathtaking scenery while still enjoying a nice swim or sunbathe session! The water here tends to be a bit choppier than other nearby spots so be sure to keep an eye out when swimming but aside from that this place will definitely make your visit to Costa Adeje extra special!

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re looking for luxury resorts or secluded coves surrounded by cliffs, there’s something special about each one of these five beaches in Costa Adeje that will make your vacation unforgettable. With their warm weather, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking surroundings, these beaches should definitely be on your list when planning your next trip to Tenerife! So pack your bags – because adventure awaits!
