Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Photo Journey

This was our first time transiting though Helsinki. This trip was part vacation, and part tier point run to help us with our British Airways Executive Club Status. This trip would put Erika over the 1,500 tier points needed for Gold status, and help me retain silver status. We organized this trip to make sure we had an extra sector for the extra tier points flying from Helsinki to London. Therefore, we had a long layover in Helsinki that gave us time to go into the city, and time in the morning to get to the airport early to enjoy the lounge.

Being careful, we left Helsinki early in the morning. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre, in order to be directly next station. This decision made it very easy for us to get up, checkout, and hop on the train to the airport. Little did we know, that it would be so efficient, and we arrived at the airport maybe a little too early. Since the Finnair Lounge didn’t open until 6:00am, it gave us time to roam around the airport and get some photos.

Helsinki Airport is quite a treat. The nature themes running throughout the terminals definitely creates a calming atmosphere. Its nice to see plants growing all around, natural wood finishes, and bird sounds all around. We had a great time roaming around the terminals while there was hardly anyone else there. Enjoy!
